Sardines on Cat
Today when I woke up I had sardines on toast. Not something I usually have, in fact never had before. I shared the can with the cat. I had just given her some dry food, to which she seemed pleased enough with, and then opened a can of Norwegian sardines. I noticed the sounds of cat consumption had abated and looked over to see a very sad face looking at me as if to say "why did I get this when you are preparing something that smells so much better." So I gave her two fillets and it made her quite happy as she ate one entirely and licked the skin and olive oil off the other, leaving her meal having only really eaten the second's tail a bit. I ate my breakfast, it was okay but not quite has heavenly has the sardine enthusiasts online would have me believe. I then adjourned to my living room to see the cat had already taken up residence upon my office chair. I shooed her off and she did the customary jumping down and walking two feet away before freezing in mid stride to stand there with ears back. She then looked at me with utter contempt, all the love those sardines should have bought me completely forgotten. I sat down to write and she returned to the kitchen to eat more of her dry food. At this moment she has returned to the living room and as resumed mewing at me pitifully, no doubt demanding more sardines. If you do a favor for a cat, never assume anything in return.
